Tyramine and Migraine
Certain foods and beverages can trigger migraines in some individuals. Tyramine is one of the most commonly acknowledged triggers for migraine attacks.
Tyramine is a naturally occurring substance found in some foods, particularly in aged and fermented foods, such as aged cheeses, smoked fish, cured meats, and certain types of beer.
Furthermore, high-protein foods may contain higher levels of tyramine if they have been stored for a prolonged period or have not been refrigerated adequately.
